One of the major aims of FIRST is to engage with industry to facilitate up-skilling of existing workers to address specific regional skills shortages. This translates to our brokering a solution to an identified skills shortages. Some examples of this have been:
- Addressing a need for up-skilling in the hydraulics industry
- Initiating Cert II and
- Dogging and rigging courses.

With the phasing out of BSZ40198 and the introduction of TAA40104, we are delivering both the full course and the upgrade course. We are able to deliver the full course in 6 days and the upgrade course in 3 days at a cost of $1100 and $600 respectively. We are currently offering the course in Mackay in partnership with Capricornia Training Company. We can also tailor an onsite or in-house package to meet the needs of your business.
